Sanitation Protocols at our Hair Salon

At Zealand Spa Salon we are absolutely committed to being a hair salon that continues to take sanitation very seriously. We are requiring all clients to wear masks and our staff are also wearing masks and shields if necessary. We are wiping down all our surfaces using a sanitizer aimed specifically at killing viruses. Out common areas are being sanitized after each use and the stations are sanitized between each client. We are washing our hands for a minimum of 20 seconds in between each client. All our staff were Barbicide certified not only for sanitation but also for Barbicide – Covid 19 specifically.

 

Service Areas At Zealand Spa Salon

Our nail area uses disposable bowl covers and all nail instruments are either sanitized or a fresh brand new packet is opened for each client and service.

The spa area of the hair salon uses fresh wax sticks on every client. We use fresh wax sticks to dip from each and every dip. Our spa beds use fresh white paper to protect each client and ensure that the spa room is clean and safe.

We have washable partitions that are portable and have strategically placed them in between the shampoo bowls so that we can use all four bowls at one time while allowing clients to feel safe and distanced. In situations where we have someone remove a mask for whatever reason we use the partitions to surround the client and our service providers are masked and shielded for extra protection. In the case of a client wanting senior photos as an example they come to our hair salon to be pampered and because they have their makeup done they cannot have a mask so we shield them to protect them from being exposed.

All our shampoo bottles and styling products are wiped down after each use and we have minimized the number of products we are using. All facial products are being wiped down.

 

Entering Zealand Spa Salon

Upon entry to Zealand Spa Salon your temperature will be checked. You will be asked a questionnaire:

1. Have you had a fever?
2. Do you have a cough?
3. Have you been around anyone with Covid?
4. Do you know someone who is sick or quarantined? If you answer yes to any of these questions further questioning will occur and you may be asked to reschedule.

Our spa salon has a room that we are calling an Isolation room. We can use if the client is requiring an extra level of sanitation or reduced exposure such as a client with a medical issue that requires them to be isolated. We are trying our best to accommodate all clients.

Thank you so much for your patience as we do our best to navigate this new world. Our staff are committed to being the safest hair salon we can possibly be. I have checked in with our clients (some who are very nervous). Everyone says we make them feel very safe. They are glad they came in because they left feeling beautiful!!! Our licensing agency came out with a new set of guidelines and I am proud to say that at Zealand Spa Salon we are exceeding all the new new guidelines ahead of what is newly required of us.
